Supervisor Buster recovering after stent procedure, anticipates quick return
Supervisor Bob Buster announced today that he is recovering comfortably after doctors last week inserted an arterial stent to improve circulation to his heart.
Buster, who represents the Riverside County’s First District, was working on his citrus property in Riverside on Oct. 24 when he began to feel ill. The supervisor drove to a local hospital and was later transferred to another medical facility, where the procedure was conducted on Saturday.
“I didn’t want to take any chances when I started feeling ill and I’m glad I didn’t,” Buster said.
“I feel great now and one of my main concerns is getting back to work so we can deal with the important budget issues we face,” he added. “The vacant seat on the Board of Supervisors means that we can’t address some of those critical issues unless four Board members are present. I’ll be back as soon as I can.”
Buster remained in constant communication with his chief of staff since becoming ill. He has been briefed daily on county business and continues to coordinate operations within the First District office as he recovers. Buster said he expects a short recovery period and hopes he will return to the office in time for Board meetings scheduled after Nov. 10.
Buster and his family extend their appreciation to well-wishers who have expressed concern during his brief medical absence.
