Lake Cahuilla Campground is Perfect for the Horsey Crowd

Surrounded by the stark scenic beauty of the Santa Rosa/San Jacinto Mountains, the Lake Cahuilla (pronounced “Kah-wee-ah”) Equestrian Campground is located in the heart of Coachella Valley’s lower desert, and within the southwestern area of La Quinta’s City limits. Established mountainous trails with breathtaking views are a major feature. Several miles of “flatland” trails nearby, along the perimeter of prestigious country clubs, provide an enjoyable, less strenuous adventure for the horse and rider.

Campground Amenities Include: Twenty campsites, plus two host campsites, each with water and electricity for group and individual day use, or overnight camping; restroom and showers building; a covered common area with concrete floor, water, electricity, camp-stoves, picnic tables, and group fire ring; numerous pipe corrals with water nearby; hitching rails, and water troughs.

The Equestrian Campground encompasses a twelve-acre area, which also features several “ primitive” campsites for the more adventurous horsey folks.
