Battle of the (Local) Bands Set for February’s Date Fest
The 2010 Riverside County Fair and National Date Festival will feature a Battle of the Bands comprised entirely of Riverside County residents.
A total of five bands will be selected out of entries received before Dec. 10. The panel of judges will review the applications, which must include performance CD, stage plot, lyrics for a five-song set (three originals and two covers), and a photo of the band.
All bands must be comprised of Riverside County residents between the ages of 16 and 26. They’ll be judged on technical performance, originality of songs, professionalism, stage presence, vocals and, of course, audience reaction.
The winning band picks up $1,000 in prize money, while second and third place will receive trophies. Not to mention all the adulation. Plus, an opportunity to sell your band’s merchandise.
