Special Meeting Called for Mesa Verde Community Council

Things are happening in Mesa Verde. 

And so, since this month’s second-Wednesday regular meeting date of the Mesa Verde Community Council falls on Nov. 11 (Veterans Day), a special meeting has been called for Tuesday, Nov. 10.

Among the items to be discussed are two vacancies on the council. Members are appointed by the Riverside County Board of Supervisors on the recommendation of the 4th District staff. Qualifications? Mainly an interest in serving your community. You must reside in the community to qualify. Contact the 4th District staff at 760 863-8211 . . . or community council member Max Schoenrock for more info.

The Mesa Verde Community and Childcare Center, which the County of Riverside is going to build on the entryway to the community on the south side of Mesa Drive will also be discussed.

Other informational items on the agenda: the new 250-acre solar plant under construction to the southwest of the community, the County of Riverside’s plans for a new emergency-access route to the valley floor via Mesa Drive and Seeley Avenue, the community park expansion, and the new community water system.

The meeting will be held at 6 p.m. at the community center on 17595 Nichols Road (at Lime Street). Members of the community are encouraged to give their input at meetings.
