Supervisor Benoit Announces Michelle DeArmond As Chief of Staff
PALM DESERT – Supervisor John J. Benoit today announces that he has appointed Michelle DeArmond as his Chief of Staff. DeArmond began her assignment yesterday, June 30.
“Michelle DeArmond contributes the skills, experience, and commitment to public service to help me best serve the people of Riverside County,” said Supervisor John J. Benoit. “She will be a central part of my leadership team, and I am confident her integrity, work ethic, and established relationships will make her a tremendous asset to the county.”

As the principal assistant to Supervisor Benoit, DeArmond will manage staff, develop Benoit’s legislative agenda, and oversee appointments to Riverside County’s boards and commissions, among many responsibilities.
DeArmond, 38, most recently worked as an Account Executive for O’Reilly Public Relations following a seven-year career as a reporter for The Press-Enterprise newspaper, covering state and local politics, and a nine-year career with the Associated Press in Indianapolis, Las Vegas, and Los Angeles. DeArmond received her bachelor’s of journalism degree with a political science minor from the University of Missouri-Columbia.
