Benoit to Speak at ‘Spirit Of '45’ Day Ceremony Saturday
RANCHO MIRAGE – Riverside County Supervisor John J. Benoit will speak at a ceremony commemorating “Spirit of ’45 Day” at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Mission Hills Senior Living in Rancho Mirage (34-560 Bob Hope Drive).
“The Coachella Valley is home to many veterans who served in World War II,” said Supervisor John J. Benoit. “I am proud to recognize their accomplishments as the nation celebrates the 65th anniversary of the end of the war.”
“Keep the Spirit of ’45 Alive,” a nonprofit, nonpartisan organization has called on governments across the United States to establish a national day of remembrance commemorating the end of World War II on the second Sunday in August.
On July 27, the Riverside County Board of Supervisors approved Supervisor Benoit’s measure to support the observance of “Spirit of ’45 Day.”
