Salton Sea Restoration Focus of Tuesday Breakfast Program

PALM DESERT – Supervisor John J. Benoit will speak at the “Breakfast with the Supervisor” hosted by the Coachella Valley Mexican American Chamber of Commerce (CVMACC) at 7:30 a.m. Oct. 12 at Embassy Suites in Palm Desert (74-700 Highway 111).

The program, “New Visions for a Restored Salton Sea,” will feature speaker Timothy Krantz, a professor of environmental studies at the University of Redlands.

Dr. Krantz is a recognized authority on the Salton Sea, where he served as the Salton Sea Database Program Director for eight years, overseeing a $4.7 million federal-assistance grant to develop a regional geographic database for the area.  Krantz served on the Salton Sea Science Subcommittee and is author of several encyclopedia entries on the Salton Sea and related topics.

“I am glad to partner with CVMACC and Dr. Krantz to bring an insightful discussion about the Salton Sea to this business group,” said Supervisor John J. Benoit.

The breakfast costs $25 for members, $30 for guests.  Please call (760) 342-7277 or email cvmacc@live.com to make reservations.
