Santa to Visit Blythe Area for Special Event Saturday

MESA VERDE – Families can enjoy a pancake breakfast, a craft workshop and a special visit by Santa Claus at Saturday’s Breakfast with Santa from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the Roy Wilson Community & Child Care Center in Mesa Verde, 13341 Mesa Dr.

The event is brought to the community by the Riverside County Economic Development Agency’s Community Services Division and follows successful Halloween candy carnival and Thanksgiving community dinner events held at the center.

“These holiday events have been well-received by the Mesa Verde community,” said Supervisor John J. Benoit. “Saturday’s breakfast will provide fun and holiday cheer for the entire family, so I hope that all attend!”

Dedicated in 2010, the 5,937-square-foot Roy Wilson Community & Child Care Center serves the rural community of Mesa Verde, eight miles west of the City of Blythe. Each Friday, Family Services of the Desert provides counseling services to residents. From 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. each Friday, Family Services of the Desert hosts “Friday Senior Fun Day” for seniors to socialize, play games and enjoy food and beverages.

Saturday’s breakfast costs $3 per adult and $2 per child. The Renu-Hope Foundation, which leases space at the center, will prepare and serve the meal in the community center kitchen.
