Bill Sanchez Takes Office as Planning Commissioner
RIVERSIDE – Guillermo “Bill” Sanchez Jr. was sworn into office Wednesday as Supervisor John J. Benoit’s appointee to the Riverside County Planning Commission. Joining Sanchez at the swearing-in ceremony were his wife, Myra, daughters Sophia and Stella and father, Guillermo Sanchez Sr.
“I am honored to have been appointed to the Riverside County Planning Commission by the Board of Supervisors,” said Bill Sanchez. “The unincorporated areas of Riverside County will see a great deal of growth as the economy continues to improve. I look forward to working with my fellow commissioners on providing well thought out direction to future development across the county and throughout the Coachella Valley.”
“We are fortunate to have Bill Sanchez, who has been actively involved in the eastern Coachella Valley, representing us on the Planning Commission,” said Supervisor John J. Benoit. “He brings the right experience and personal attributes to succeed in this demanding position.”
Sanchez’s appointment was confirmed unanimously, 5-0, by the Riverside County Board of Supervisors Oct. 16. Sanchez, sworn in at the Oct. 17 Planning Commission meeting, will complete the term of the late Commissioner Jim Porras. The term expires June 30, 2015.
Sanchez, 38, is a principal at CSG Retail Management, managing the daily operations of retail shopping centers. Sanchez brings to the commission six years of experience as a planning commissioner for the City of Coachella. Born and raised in the Coachella Valley, Sanchez is a graduate of Coachella Valley High School. He earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration from California State University, Long Beach. Sanchez resides in Indio.
