Mecca Street Paving to Get Under Way Next Week
The County of Riverside, with its contractor Matich Corporation, will begin the highly
anticipated Mecca street paving project on Monday, Dec. 21.
The project calls for the removal of existing pavement, installation of concrete curb and
gutter, sidewalks, driveway approaches, new street asphalt and other miscellaneous road
work.
The project is scheduled to take place over a period of approximately 15 weeks. Daily
working hours shall be between the hours of 7 a.m. and 4 p.m. Monday through Friday, except legal
holidays. Access to businesses and other properties affected by this project will be
maintained at all times; however, minor traffic delays may take place during construction
hours.
Emergency vehicles and all other services will have access throughout the duration of the
Project.
Your patience and cooperation during the construction of the improvements is requested, in
order to help the project run as smoothly as possible. Please direct any questions to Matich
Corporation, c/o Kelly Rahn at (909) 228-1659 or Jesse Mendoza (Resident Engineer) with the County
of Riverside at (951) 955-6885.
A little inconvenience for the next few months will lead to a brand new look and much improved
traffic conditions in downtown Mecca.
