Supervisor Benoit To Dedicate COD’s Desert Energy Enterprise Center Wednesday
PALM SPRINGS – Riverside County Supervisor John J. Benoit will speak at the grand opening of the College of the Desert’s Desert Energy Enterprise Center tomorrow, January 20, at 11 AM. The Desert Energy Enterprise Center is located in Palm Springs at 3301 Micro Place.
“I believe we’ve reached a significant point in the local renewable energy economy, a stage where we have the necessary businesses and infrastructure, and are now preparing the workforce of the 21st century,” said Fourth District Supervisor John J. Benoit. “This structure will be an engine for economic development that will bring great jobs to service this growing sector.”
Funded by College of the Desert energy-related grants and contracts, the 9,000 square-foot facility will offer renewable energy industry education and training, as well as a site where tested products and prototypes from industry can be demonstrated for potential energy customers.
Supervisor John J. Benoit represents the Fourth District on the Riverside County Board of Supervisors. Stretching from the Palm Springs area south to the Salton Sea and east to the Colorado River, it is the largest geographical district in the county.
