Benoit to Shop with Children in “Shop with a Firefighter” Sunday

LA QUINTA – Supervisor John J. Benoit will join the men and women of CAL FIRE to chaperone about 30 children in the “Shop with a Firefighter” program at Walmart in La Quinta, 79-295 Highway 111, at 8 a.m. Sunday.

“CAL FIRE’s commitment to helping others has an enormous positive impact in our community, especially for needy children during the holidays,” said Supervisor John J. Benoit. “I look forward to spending time shopping with children in this fulfilling and rewarding tradition.”

Children pre-screened by the Riverside County Child Protective Services Department will receive a $200 Walmart gift card. They must use $150 on clothing, school supplies or personal necessities and may use the remaining $50 on toys, personal interest or gifts for their family.
