Tonight’s Movie in Mecca Postponed Due to Weather

MECCA – Due to weather conditions, the Desert Recreation District is postponing tonight’s movie at the Mecca Community Center Park. The Movies in the Park series was originally scheduled to start tonight with a screening of “Madagascar 3” sponsored by Supervisor John J. Benoit.

The Movies in the Park will resume next Thursday, July 18 with “The Hunger Games.” The lineup also includes “Kicking & Screaming” on July 25, “Oz The Great and Powerful” on Aug. 1 and “The Amazing Spider-Man” on Aug. 8.

The family movie nights are free and take place at the Mecca Community Center Park at 65-250 Coahuilla St. in Mecca. Children’s activities start at 6 p.m. and the movies will be shown at dusk.
