Riverside County Remembrance Ceremony to Mark 12-Year Anniversary of 9/11
RIVERSIDE – The County of Riverside will honor the memories of those lost on September 11, 2001 from 7:30 a.m. to 7:45 a.m. Wednesday. Supervisor John J. Benoit invites the public to attend the ceremony, to be held near the flagpoles in front of the County Administrative Center in Riverside, 4080 Lemon St.
“On the 12-year anniversary of 9/11, we gather to remember the 2,977 victims of the deadliest terrorist attack on American soil,” said Supervisor John J. Benoit. “We are never going to forget the people who died that day and the service personnel who have served since that time fighting the war on terror.”
The remembrance ceremony will include a 21-gun salute, taps and a wreath presentation by Supervisor Benoit. New flags will be raised and lowered to half-staff.
In the event of rain, the ceremony will be moved into the Board of Supervisors Chambers.
