Seminar to Protect Senior Citizens from Crimes

PALM SPRINGS – Senior citizens are invited to Supervisor John J. Benoit’s scam stopper seminar at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 15 to learn how to protect themselves from crimes that target the elderly.

The program is free to attend and will take place at the Mizell Senior Center in Palm Springs, 480 S. Sunrise Way.

The seminar is hosted in conjunction with the Palm Springs Police Department, Bureau of Automotive Repair and the Riverside County Curtailing Abuse Related to the Elderly (C.A.R.E.) Program.

The police department will discuss current crime trends and how to protect yourself. The Bureau of Automotive Repair will discuss auto scams. The C.A.R.E. program will address scams targeted at older adults and who to contact for help.
