Bus Transportation Available for Palo Verde High School Students to Attend College and Career Fair
BLYTHE – Supervisor John J. Benoit is offering Palo Verde High School students free bus transportation to attend a long-running college and career fair in the Coachella Valley next week.
The 29th Annual College Voc-Tech Night, set for Wednesday, Oct. 15, features more than 90 four-year universities, community colleges, vocational-technical schools, the military and employers. These organizations will have information and representatives available to help students plan for their career and education after high school.
Due to limited space, the bus transportation is open to the first 100 students that submit a completed registration form. Registration forms are available at the Palo Verde High School office and must be returned by 3 p.m. Monday.
“Students each year are amazed by the great turnout of universities, community colleges, out of state schools, employers and military branches at College Voc-Tech Night,” said Supervisor John J. Benoit. “I am very pleased to extend an opportunity for up to 100 Blythe students who want to come to this special event.”
College Voc-Tech Night will take place from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Oct. 15 in the Fullenwider Auditorium at the Riverside County Fairgrounds in Indio. Students will check in at the student parking lot at Palo Verde High School at 3:15 p.m. At 3:30 p.m., buses operated by the Palo Verde Unified School District Transportation Department will depart for Indio. The buses will return to Blythe by 11 p.m.
Registration forms need to be completed and returned to Elizabeth Ortega, senior clerk/secretary-counseling, at the Palo Verde High School office no later than 3 p.m., Monday, Oct. 13.
