Benoit to Send Off Volunteers at Saturday’s Day of Service
BERMUDA DUNES – More than 300 volunteers will paint, clean up and participate in service projects at schools, senior centers and community facilities throughout the Coachella Valley on Saturday, April 23, as part of the 8th Annual Community Just Serve Day.Volunteers will meet for a pancake breakfast at 7:30 a.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter day Saints in Bermuda Dunes, 40-840 Washington St. Supervisor John J. Benoit and other local leaders will thank the volunteers at 8 a.m. before they depart for their project service sites.“It is always a tremendous pleasure to see so many volunteers give back to the community and make our world a better place,” said Supervisor John J. Benoit. “Their community service keeps our valley looking beautiful, and their efforts will make an immediate difference.”Service project sites include schools, senior centers, boys and girls clubs, YMCAs, parking lots, hiking trails and community facilities throughout the Coachella Valley.The event, formerly known as “Community Helping Hands Day,” draws many members and friends of the church, as well as volunteers from other churches and community service organizations in the Coachella Valley.All volunteers are welcome to participate.
