SACRAMENTO – Governor Gavin Newsom today appointed Riverside County Supervisor V. Manuel Perez to serve on the Governor’s Council of Homelessness Advisors.

“I am deeply honored that Gov. Newsom has asked me to serve on his council on homelessness. This issue has been a top priority of mine since the day I was appointed the Fourth District’s County Supervisor. I look forward to elevating the great work the County of Riverside, Coachella Valley Association of Governments and our non-profit service providers are doing to address our homeless population. Furthermore, I will engage the entire Board of Supervisors, local elected officials and their staffs to be part of the solutions to homelessness and affordable housing. Working together, we can bring the much-needed resources to the Fourth District, Riverside County and the Inland Empire and truly make a difference,” stated Supervisor V. Manuel Perez.

The Council is co-chaired by Sacramento Mayor Darrell Steinberg and Los Angeles County Supervisor Mark Ridley-Thomas.
