Ceremony to Commemorate Revitalization of Indio Child Support Office
INDIO – The Coachella Valley office for the Riverside County Department of Child Support Services has been newly remodeled to improve the ambiance for customers and staff, and boost efficiency of county operations.
A ribbon cutting ceremony will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 15 in the lobby of the child support services office in Indio, 47-950 Arabia St. Directors of both California and Riverside County child support agencies will be on hand to celebrate the dedication of the improvements.
Supervisor V. Manuel Perez invites the public to attend and learn about the services that are available at this event, which takes place during Child Support Awareness Month.
“August is Child Support Awareness Month, and events like this give us an opportunity to encourage families to learn of and receive needed services,” said Supervisor Perez. “I am pleased that this major renovation provides a more comfortable and inviting place for our customers and staff, as they carry out critical work to support children and families in our communities.”
The Department of Child Support Services Indio Lobby and Office Remodel Project is the first major renovation of the office since the department moved to the building in 2003.
The project remodeled the lobby and reconfigured interior space to offer additional customer spaces and larger open office areas, and add movable walls to allow for flexible room sizes. The new customer spaces include five interview rooms, a computer center, a Family Law office and a children’s play area in the lobby. Public restrooms, as well as staff restrooms and a staff breakroom, were also updated.
The $2.2 million project was funded by federal (66 percent) and state (34 percent) sources.
Tours and light refreshments will be available after the ceremony.
