Coachella Valley and Blythe Area Small Businesses Can Apply for County Assistance Grants through June 19
PALM DESERT – Applications will be accepted through June 19 for a countywide small business assistance program that will provide grants of up to $10,000 to small businesses to respond and recover from coronavirus-related economic impacts.
Businesses can apply for the Riverside County COVID-19 Small Business Assistance Grant Program online at https://mainstreetlaunch.org/contact-us-riverside/.
The program is open to small businesses in cities and unincorporated communities of Riverside County.
Eligible businesses must have experienced a financial hardship as a result of COVID-19. Grants are open to existing small businesses operating as of March 1, 2020, with at least one year of operating history. To be eligible, the business must have a minimum of one employee and less than 50 employees.
Grants are not available to businesses that have received other federal COVID-19 funding such as the Economic Injury Disaster Loan or the Paycheck Protection Program.
Funds can be used for payroll/employee retention, working capital, purchase of personal protective equipment, rent or mortgage payments, and paying vendor invoices.
The $46.575 million Riverside County COVID-19 Small Business Assistance Grant Program is made possible by $431 million in funding from the federal government that Riverside County received as part of the CARES Act.
Funding for the program is limited. In the event that the number of businesses that qualify exceeds the available funding, grants will be awarded through an automated random selection process by Main Street Launch, a third-party nonprofit that Riverside County has contracted with to implement the program.
