Riverside County Business Ambassadors to Visit Blythe Business Community on Wednesday

BLYTHE – Businesses in the Blythe community are invited to attend a roundtable on Wednesday, Sept. 9 organized by the Riverside County Business Ambassador program, in partnership with the Blythe Chamber of Commerce and the City of Blythe.

The roundtable will feature updates for the business community and information on an upcoming new round of Riverside County small business assistance grants. Businesses that attend can also receive boxes of 50 masks for their employees and customers and window signage on face covering requirements, courtesy of Riverside County.

“We will be opening a new round of applications for our small business grant program to provide relief funding to small businesses that have been hit hard by the pandemic and need support,” said Supervisor V. Manuel Perez. “I appreciate our county staff and business ambassadors who are helping get the word out about resources that can assist the small businesses that keep our economy moving forward.”

The roundtable, with a question and answer session, will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday. The event will be held at Blythe City Hall, 235 N. Broadway, and also streamed on Facebook Live. From noon to 2 p.m., the business ambassadors will go out to businesses that request a site visit.

“Thank you to the business ambassadors and Supervisor Perez for putting this together,” said Blythe Mayor Dale Reynolds. “I encourage all businesses in Blythe to attend this meeting if possible so you have the latest information on the next round of grant monies being made available and get the word out so everybody has the chance to apply.”

The Riverside County Business Ambassador program is a program of the Riverside County Business and Community Services Department and the Riverside County Transportation & Land Management Agency. The program offers assistance, at no cost to businesses, to support businesses and help them operate in a safe manner during the coronavirus pandemic.

County business ambassadors, at the request of the business, can conduct an individualized assessment of the business to cover safety measures to reduce the spread of COVID-19. The county program also provides a box of 50 masks for employees and customers at every business and window signage on face coverings requirements that businesses can post.

Businesses can make appointments for an in-person meeting with business ambassadors or meetings by phone or Zoom by filling out an appointment request at: https://rivcoccsd.org/businessambassadorprogram.

As part of the “Masks are Medicine” campaign, the Riverside County Emergency Management Department distributed 60,000 masks to the City of Blythe, which is providing them to local organizations and individuals on a first come, first-served basis.
