Free Waste Disposal Events Scheduled in Coachella on Saturday

COACHELLA – The City of Coachella is hosting two events on Saturday, September 25 for residents to throw away household hazardous waste and bulky items for free. Both events will run from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday.

Riverside County Supervisor V. Manuel Perez and Martha’s Village to Continue Palm Springs Summer Cooling Shelter through October

PALM SPRINGS – Today, Riverside County Supervisor V. Manuel Perez, and Martha’s Village CEO, Linda Barrack, announced that the summer cooling shelter located at the Palm Springs United Methodist Church will extend its operations through October. The contract was supposed to end on September 30th, but Supervisor Perez was able to secure an additional month’s worth of funding for Martha’s Village to continue its operations. The Palm Springs United Methodist Church’s leadership also agreed to the extension.

The Riverside County Department of Waste Resources, in cooperation with Burrtec, has scheduled a free household hazardous waste collection event from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, September 18 at the Edom Hill Transfer Station, located at 70-100 Edom Hill Road, Cathedral City, CA 92235.
